itinerary details

day 1 - Mustafapasa --- Welcome get together at the village. Dinner follows briefing and tour introduction.

day 2 - Mustafapasa --- In the morning we walk in the village for about 2 hours to get to know the area. In the afternoon we have a 3 hours moderate walk to Ortahisar castle, and the village known with the same name. For the first half of the walk we will be following the Uzengi creek. In the valley along the river, there is a large number of pigeons, and birds of prey. As the valley ends, we enter into a trail through apricot trees and vineyards. As we approach the village, there is a great scenic point overlooking the village, and a castle carved out of massive tufa rock.

day 3 - Mustafapasa --- Cat Valley; This is one of the more interesting places in Cappadocia, and least known to all other than the locals. We walk through willow trees and fairy chimneys. The walk is very pleasant, and can be rated as easy. After lunch we walk to Cemildere village by the Pigeons Valley. The volcanic rock in the valley has a striking rose pink color. The walk is moderate and approximately 3 hours from 1200 m (~3900 ft) elevation to 950 (~3100).

day 4 - Mustafapasa to Guzelyurt --- The walk starts from Meskendir Valley overlooking Goreme. Locals of Goreme cultivate the land along the valley for their fruit supply. We start at an altitude of 1100 m (~3600 ft), descend to 950 (~3100) and finally go up to 1250 m (~4100 ft). We continue our walk in the Zindanonu Valley. After lunch, a 3 hours trail will lead us to Cavusin. On our way we will have a chance to visit two of the ancient rock carved churches, one with original frescoes still intact.
Later in the day we drive to Guzelyurt, our next destination. En route we will visit Kaymakli underground city, carved way back in the past as a shelter in times of siege and continuous raids.

day 5 - Guzelyurt --- Ihlara Valley; We start our walk from the village of Ihlara, and follow the Melendiz river all along the way. The walk through this outstanding valley takes around 6 hours (moderate walk) including the visits as we continue.

day 6 - Guzelyurt --- The Red Church from the 6th century is our first stop. We continue on to Meydan plateau by Sivrihisar village. This is where you can see sheep herds six months a year. There are fairy chimneys on our trail towards the Nar village. The crater lake as we pass the village will be the end of our tour. The walk is moderate, around 5 to 6 hours.

day 7 --- Tour is over after breakfast.
