Bursa: First Capital City of the Ottomans

Located at the foot of the mighty Mt. Uludağ, Bursa holds historical significance as the first capital and the heart of the Ottoman State. The royal monuments represent a the pre imperial era of the Ottomans and feature a distinctly Turkish architectural style.
You will visit the Grand Mosque with its many domes, the historic Cocoon Bazaar, onceheart of the Ottoman silk trade, the Green Mosque and Mausoleum, each a masterpiece of tile art and mark a significant turning point in history.
During your drive to and from Istanbul, you will pass through a region otherwise hardly seen by visitors, the industrial powerhouse of Turkey, and understand why it is a strategic country at the intersection of east and west.
Curiously, they say Hannibal, the legendary Carthaginian commander is also buried nearby.
