Itinerary Details
Day 1: The Ottomans 101
The Topkapı Palace was both the seat of the government and home of the Sultans for 400 years. In this exclusive tour of the Topkapı Palace, you will visit the numerous courtyards, including the Harem, Treasury, and Sacred Relics.
Your day continues with visits to two of Istanbul’s majestic mosques, the Blue Mosque and the Mosque of Suleyman the Magnificent.
Day 2: Beyond the Old Town
Today, you will spend your time along the Golden Horn and the Bosphorus. You will start the day at the Eyup Mosque, the holiest Muslim site in the city where the Ottoman Sultans were girded with the imperial sword and sworn in as the shadow of Allah on earth. In and around this mosque frequented by the locals, you will feel an authentic vibe different from the heart of the Old Town. Then, you will move to the Bosphorus shoreline to visit the opulent Dolmabahçe Palace, the Ottoman answer to Versailles, and the rugged cut-throat European Fortress, the mighty outpost on the Bosphorus that functioned as a choke point and protected the Ottoman fleet during the siege.
